"Ancestors" From the Gifted777 series, this painting reads: "did i die for you to forget me? look into my eyes offspring see your intensity our mirrored identities feel the connection YOU ARE ME" "Our roots are found in the ground know your history " This painting ended up forming itself into two profiles looking into each others eyes... one of an elder, and one of a child. This piece is about knowing our histories, and giving honor to where we came from... to those who struggled so we did not have to, to those who sacrificed for our well beings. Its about connection to something larger thatn self... its about becoming who we already are-- our ancestors blood running through our very veins.
