These works include photos taken and collected by Lizzie over the past three years. These works all began as a personal collection of images, something just for fun, but as the collections grew she felt compelled to create something greater from them.
“The thing I love about these pieces is they create this whole new image from parts that never would be possible without each individual piece. They juxtapose people and things that may never again find themselves together, and they give us a sort of commonality. Is this your bootie, does yours look like this? Have you seen this sign somewhere, do these words resonate with you? Have you ridden in this cab, been on that street? I wanted to make images that really engage the viewer, to where you get pulled in. I feel like with my painting work, you see it, you feel it upon impact. With these, the viewer has to take more time, see things they didnt see at first, upon studying, discover something new.”
